SMG manufactures knitting machine components and develops electronic yarn feeding and yarn control in house. We are not a knitting machine builder or a trading company: our work covers one segment of the process — the yarn, from machine entry to a stable stitch.

Who we are
Components today. Yarn control next.
Founded in 2004, SMG (Cixi Samegear Automation Technology Co., Ltd.) built its business on traditional knitting machine components — standard parts, wear parts, replacement parts and the yarn feeding components around them. Those products are still the core of the business today.
What we are building next is electronic yarn feeding and yarn control: higher-value products that answer what knitters fight with every shift — yarn breaks, unstable tension and machines that will not run faster.

Who we are

SMG is Cixi Samegear Automation Technology Co., Ltd. — machining knitting machine components since 2004, and developing electronic yarn feeding and yarn control in house.

SMG has grown in stages: standard components, then the parts around the yarn path, and now electronic yarn feeding and yarn control — each stage built on the manufacturing base of the one before.

Electronic yarn feeding and control
Electronic yarn feeders, storage feeders and detection — developed in house and validated on real machines. This is where SMG invests now: electronic yarn feeding and yarn control technology.

Manufacturing base
Machined in house. Tested in house.
SMG manufactures with its own factory and equipment, and has been supplying knitting machine builders since 2004. Standard models are held in stock; low-frequency and special specifications are produced to order.

Product development, application support and inspection stay under our own roof. Electronic yarn feeding products are developed in house and released only after running on real machines in more than one application; inspection is a fixed step in the route, not a final gate.

Incoming and in-process checks are part of the production route, so an error is caught where it appears.

Most of our business today is with knitting machine builders. Overseas it runs through distributors, and increasingly through mills that already use SMG parts. The same plant answers all three, so a customer is never talking to a reseller about their own product.
