SMG SMGTEXYarn Feeding Technology Talk to an Engineer

Technical support

Technical support from the team that builds the product.

Installation, parameter setting, remote diagnosis, spare parts and a clear complaint route — handled by the engineers who develop and produce the feeders and components, not by a call centre.

  • Installation Mounting, yarn path and first run
  • Parameters Recorded as the machine reference
  • Remote diagnosis Photo, video, alarm and condition
  • Spare parts Wear parts and replacement units

Installation support

Installed once, and set so it stays repeatable.

Installation support covers mounting, yarn path, connection to the machine, and the first run under your production conditions. Electronic feeding is commissioned against the settings your machine already runs.

  • Mounting and alignment Position on the machine, bracket and alignment to the yarn path.
  • Yarn path Routing from package to needle, and the guide points that affect tension.
  • Connection and signal Power, wiring and the stop or alarm signal the machine expects.
  • First run Commissioning at your yarn, your speed and your stitch structure.

Where the machine is not yet in production, we set out what to prepare before installation day instead of discovering it on site.

Where the machine is not yet in production, we set out what to prepare before installation day instead of discovering it on site.

Parameter setting

Settings recorded, so the same result comes back.

Every unit is set with reference values for the application, and those values are written down. A replacement, a reset or a new shift then starts from the machine record rather than from an estimate.

  • Tension set point The working tension for the yarn and the stitch structure you run.
  • Speed range The RPM band the feeder is expected to hold across the machine.
  • Yarn type and count What the setting was recorded for, so it is not copied to a different yarn.
  • Stop and alarm sensitivity The run-out, break and stop behaviour the machine is meant to react to.
  • Reference record The values as confirmed on the machine, kept with the machine and the order.

Parameter changes are part of support. After a repair, a replacement or a change of yarn, the machine is returned to the recorded reference and the record is updated.

Remote diagnosis

Diagnosis before anyone travels.

Most feeding faults are identified from what the machine shows and what the operator sees. The order below is the same whether the answer is an adjustment, a repair or a replacement.

  1. 01 Collect the facts

Machine model, product model, photo or video, alarm code and working condition — sent together, so the first answer is a useful one.

  2. 02 Reproduce it

Run the machine in the condition you described, or tell us exactly when the fault appears: at speed, on a yarn change, at start-up.

  3. 03 Compare with the reference

The unit is checked against the recorded settings for that application before any part is suspected.

  4. 04 Check inputs and outputs

Signal, wiring, sensor and mechanical wear — the points that actually produce the symptom.

  5. 05 Resolve or replace

Adjust, repair, or name the replacement part and confirm the model against the machine details.

Common faults

Symptoms we see most, and where to look first.

None of these has a single cause, and the first suspicion is often the wrong one. Check the yarn path and the settings record before replacing a unit.

Fault 01

Yarn breaks at the feeder

Guide wear, a routing change or a tension set point copied from a different yarn — usually resolved before the unit itself is in question.

  • Tension

Fault 02

Tension drifts on one unit

One unit drifting while the rest hold points to that unit, its sensor or its mounting. A drift across the whole machine points to yarn or settings.

Fault 03

Alarm with nothing visible

Stop signals and sensitivity are checked against the reference record first — the alarm code is what makes this case quick to answer.

Quality complaint process

A complaint is a route, not an argument.

Every case runs the same path: facts first, evaluation against the confirmed specification, then a disposition production can be planned around — and what prevents a repeat.

  1. 01 Report

Order or lot reference, part or product model, quantity affected and what failed in production.

  2. 02 Evidence

Photos or video of the part, its marking, its mounting position and the machine condition it failed in.

  3. 03 Evaluation

The part and the supply record are compared against the specification confirmed for that order.

  4. 04 Disposition

Containment and replacement are agreed first, so the line is not left waiting while the cause is studied.

  5. 05 Corrective action

Cause, process change and the confirmation that later batches are checked against the same failure.

Continued support

Spare parts and distributor technical cooperation.

Support runs for years, not one order. Spare parts are identified from the machine and the old part; distributor engineers use the factory technical channel.

Spare parts

Identified from the machine, not guessed.

Wear parts, feeding components and electronic units are confirmed against the machine model, the old part and its mounting position — including parts with no readable model number.

  • Wear parts
  • Electronic units

Distributor technical cooperation

Dealers work through the same channel.

Distributor and service engineers get joint diagnosis with the factory, the settings records for the machines they support, and escalation to the development team when a case needs design input.

  • Shared records

What to send

Six details that make the answer precise.

Send these in the first message and the reply is a diagnosis instead of a question list. If a detail is missing, we say which one is needed before anything is quoted or shipped.

  • Machine model Machine type, brand and model — circular, flat, hosiery or seamless.
  • Product model The model of the feeder or component, or of the part being replaced.
  • Photo or video The part, its marking and its mounting position on the machine.
  • Alarm or error code Exactly what the machine or the control panel displays.
  • Working condition Speed, yarn type and count, tension range and when the fault appears.
  • Order or lot reference The order, invoice or lot the part came from, if it is a quality case.

Next step

Get Technical Support.

Send the machine model, the product model and the condition you are seeing. A stopped machine is treated as urgent, and the answer comes from the engineer who owns the product.
